ARTIST STATEMENT
KRING DEMETRIO is a self-taught illustrator based in Cebu, Philippines. She draws inspiration from folkloric stories and popular myths. Deeply embedded in her drawings are etchings made from empty ballpoint pens and wooden skewers, usually depicting lines and other decorative images. In 2018, she won the Lampara Books Illustrator Prize. She has published interior or cover illustrations for tabletop games, children's literature, and general fiction. Her work has also been featured in Graphika Manila, Novice Spotlight, ImagineFX, Spectrum Fantastic Art, and Infected by Art. You can see more of her art at www.thedrawerkring.com
